How The War And This Timely Promotion: Netflix Is Bringing Back The “Servant Of The People” Comedy Starring Ukraine's President Zelensky

Not often does a TV series influence and leads to a presidential election. Where fiction turned into reality.

It did in Ukraine.

“Servant of the People”  will be back, It’s the 2015 comedy series which stars Volodymyr Zelensky as a teacher who become president.

It’s not talking war but about corruption.

The series helped Zelensky become famous and the promotion and name recognition increased his changes in an election. He became president.

The series ran for three season. Why is it coming back? It’s timely and the distributor says there’s demand, as war rages in Ukraine.

I am a senior Forensic Marketing Expert, Advertising expert, Advertising/Marketing consultant with Londre Marketing Consultants, LLC.

I created the 9P's of Marketing. I own a copyright for the Nine P’s/9 P's of Marketing ©2007 concepts and Marketing practices, which augment the Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Promotion and Place) or the 4P’s by the American Marketing Association (AMA), Neil Borden and Jerome McCarthy in the study and practice of Marketing.

The Nine P's/9P's of Marketing help identify marketing problems in a number of strategic areas and help develop profitable marketing’s objectives, strategies, tactics and solutions. The 9P's are insightful.

In Marketing, the "customer," or potential consumers should be the center of the universe or "king," but they are missing in the 4P's. I feel from my study and research that there needs to be more focus on the "Customer," or "People." "People" or market segments, which utilize demographics, geographics, psychographics, behavioral characteristics and technographics, are vital, learning components of the 9P's.

I consult and teach using the Marketing concepts and practices of the Nine P's/9P's of Marketing.

In the study and practice of Marketing, brand, advertising and marketing managers develop plans, strategies and tactics. The Nine P’s include these important concepts, practices and components:

  • People (Segmentation and Targeting)
    • In my 9P's, I stress that firms need to look and analyze potential, new, existing and repeat customers and users.
    • To understand your "People" or market segments, you will need to or may need to utilize many characteristics, including demographics (such as age, family size, family life cycle, gender, income, occupation, education, religion, race, culture, generation, nationality, and social class), geographics, psychographics (buyers are on basis of psychological/personality traits, lifecycle, values), behavioral characteristics (needs and benefits, decision roles, user and usage-related variables, occasions, user status, usage rate buyer-readiness stage, loyalty status, attitude and multiple bases) and technographics (potential buyers may or may not have the software and computer skills. Think employees here too, which may be a vital component or components of the 9P's of Marketing.
    • Once a target market is chosen, the organization can develop its marketing strategies to target a market segment or market segments
    • It’s easy to market toward demographics, but brands can’t connect with people unless they learn how they think. By developing mindset-based marketing strategies, brand decision-making can better resonate with these segments, targets and audiences to increase consumer loyalty.
    • Brand managers need to look at at their customers and/or potential users. Do you understand your potential customer's purchase and usage touchpoints, their habits and how they engage with your brand? Competing for their attention?
    • Place "consumers," "People" or "potential buyers" in the middle of a circle. Find information or data on them. Add the other components in the other nine P's.
    • Post Covid 19 pandemic, I'm seeing "People" want an exceptional buying experience, which includes ethics and the company’s values. People are caring about convenience, comfort, ethics, and sustainability.  Look at home delivery of meals and everything on Amazon and Walmart or Target.
    • “People” or consumers prefer to buy “Products” from brands that share their values and “purpose-driven” movements.
    • Targeting mindsets allows brands to connect with consumers on an emotional level, which positively affects brands’ bottom lines.
    • Consumer and shopping data, plus first-party data can also help brands identify what people find valuable and important. You need to know where they live, how they work and play?
    • "People" or targeting has almost always been left out of the traditional "Marketing Mix," almost every diagram includes the four P's with Product, Promotion, Place and Price.
    • In Marketing, from my education, training, research and analysis plus testimony, there needs to be greater focus on the buyer, "customer," or "People," in both planning ad implementation.
  • Product and Services
    • Under the 9P's, it's the goods and service combination the firm offers to the target market, including variety of product mix, features, branding, designs, packaging, sizes, services, maintenance contracts, warranties and return policies.
    • A product (service) is anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption that might satisfy a want or need.
  • Place (Distribution)
  • Price:
    • I’m finding that “People” or potential customers in my 9P’s, actual consumers are no longer buying “Products” and services based solely on “Price” and product quality.
    • An IBM study found that Nearly six in 10 consumers ("People") surveyed are willing to change their buying habits to reduce environmental impact. They found that over 70% would pay a premium of 35%, on average, for brands and products that are sustainable and environmentally responsible.
  • Planning
  • Promotion:
    • There are eight (8) major, strategic components or communication elements which are personal and non-personal communication activities.
    • The activities that communicate the merits of the overall product include:
      • Personal Selling/ Sales Force: Sales persons
        • Listen more than you talk. People who listen more, learn more, plus helps you position your service/product/solution or offering.
      • Advertising: There's an expression "It is only creative if the product or service sells." I wanted to add "It is only good media spending if it sells."
      • Sales Promotion
      • Collateral Materials
      • Direct Marketing (also referred to as Action or Direct Response Advertising)
      • Interactive/Internet/Web, Digital Media, Social Media:
      • Events and Experiences
      • Public Relations/PR
    • Here are some strategic comments and questions under Promotion:
      • To whom should you target and promote? Under "People"/Targeting, target market, audience with media characteristics fall here.
      • What should you promote? Strategic copy points.
      • Evaluate the eight different elements under Promotion and your brand's practices. That affects media planning.
      • Ask is there a better way? A different promotional mix. There has to be a better way.
      • What are your costs in dollars and manpower or person power? Ask "Is there a different way or ways to budget?"
      • Look at different strategic partners? Their costs?
      • You can differentiate with price. Discounting? Special sales? What economic and discount levels should you offer? Look at revenue versus costs.
      • What form or combination of promotion should you offer? Features?
      • How frequent? Add media planning here.

Media Solutions Using An Audience Insights Hub: Combining People, Planning And Promotion, Under The Nine P's Of Marketing?

Marketing solutions, or two great examples trying to solve the axing of cookies and using "partners" under the nine P's.

Possible solutions using an audience (Think People) insights hub with NBCUniversal and Disney. Two deals.

Why? It’s a program to offer an ad and media framework as third-party cookies are being eliminated for privacy concerns. No longer will product managers be focusing on a specific target market which contrasts sharply with one following the marketing strategy of mass marketing. In my research, analysis, consulting and teaching, a target audience would be a media term; target market is a marketing

It’s NBCUniversal and Omnicom Media Group or OMG and NBCUniversal. It’s about a media group having access to NBCU's audience insights hub—or what they call a “clean room” solution.

There was another “partners” agreement when Horizon made a similar deal with Disney.

More news will be coming with NBCU’s One22 developer conference on March 22nd.

For March Madness, Cinderella Teams Create Bigger TV Ratings. How Many Times Has A Number One, Won?

Did you know that only three times has the Number One overall seed won March Madness, the NCAA Tournament.

That record has been since the selection committee began ranking the Number Ones back in 2004.

Wire to wire. Those three teams, not taken down by Cinderella teams, are:
  • Louisville in 2013
  • Kentucky in 2012
  • Florida in 2007
You may be wondering..the Number One seed has lost in the second round thrice -- and the first round once.

Gonzaga is this year's No. 1 overall seed. Their fifth time.

Go, Zags.

In Some Sports Transactions There are Truly Winners and Losers: Take Tom Brady's 600th Touchdown Ball

He's now coming back to play after "retiring."

\Under my 9P's, put this under "Product."  I'd add "Place," and "Presentation," too.

Last October I posted about the worth of Tom Brady's 600th TD ball.

Well that ball won't be worth as much since the GOAT --Tom Brady-- is coming back for the '22 Season.

One used on Sunday October 27th was estimated to be worth $500000. Sold for $518K.  The winner of the purchase has become a slight loser.

So it's not priceless, but the 600th TD pass by Brady to Evans was given to a fan and the Buccaneers helped negotiate getting it back.

That day it was estimated to be worth $500K.  Really, half a million dollars.

To that fan, the Buccaneers traded a $1K gift card for team stuff, another football, a signed Tom Brady jersey and Tom says he will throw in a helmet, a couple of jerseys or some other stuff.

How about adding lifetime upgraded season tickets?

Btw, I can buy a NFL Wilson football for under 20 bucks.

I own a copyright for the Nine P’s/9 P's of Marketing ©2007 concepts and Marketing practices, which augment the 1960's Marketing Mix (Product, Price, Promotion and Place) or the 4P’s by the American Marketing Association (AMA), Neil Borden and Jerome McCarthy in the study and practice of Marketing.

The Nine P's/9P's of Marketing help identify marketing problems in a number of strategic areas and help develop profitable marketing’s objectives, strategies, tactics and solutions. The 9P's are insightful. They were created for the digital age.

I consult and teach using these Marketing concepts and practices of the Nine P's/9P's of Marketing.

  • Product and Services
  • Place (Distribution)
  • Price:

The Business of Baseball...With The Millionaires and Billionaires

Was thinking of baseball or the business of baseball...Hopefully the owners and players are in the same place (someplace) and they haven't burned the fans who pay for all of this. Play ball...soon, with fans who aren't irritated with all of the negotiating, bickering by the millionaires and billionaires.

Inflation...wait for the ticket price increases.

In the study and practice of Marketing, brand, advertising and marketing managers develop plans, strategies and tactics. The Nine P’s include these important concepts, practices and components:

  • People (Segmentation and Targeting)
    • Who's paying for all of this baseball...the fans. They watch tv and the advertisers. They buy tickets. They buy merchandise.
    • In my 9P's, I stress that firms need to look and analyze potential, new, existing and repeat customers and users.
    • It's a special way at looking at diversity, if you review your gender, racial and other factors to your employees, customers, management, talent, board of directors, suppliers, partners, agencies, production and more.
    • Look at your actual customers. Then once a target market is chosen, the organization can develop its marketing strategies to target a market segment or market segments

If Your Disney, Which Of The Nine P’s Of Marketing Refer To “Halting Businesses In Russia?”

Well, I’d look at “Product,” “Place,” “Partners,” “Presentation,” as in branding activities and the “halting business in Russia” message takes “Promotion” into account.

The List of Stopping and Halting Business for Disney

  1. National Geographic magazine and tours
  2. No more new movie releases in Russia
  3. Disney Cruise activities and excursions
  4. Product and licensing content
  5. Linear TV channels, which involve contracts and “Partners”

Well, I’d look at “Product,” “Place,” “Partners,” “Presentation,” as in branding activities and the “halting business in Russia” message takes “Promotion” into account.

They are working with other partners on aid and other much-needed assistance to refugees.

Book Stores Taking Another Hit: Amazon Opened And Now Closing.

A little now and a little history:

Amazon opened as an online bookseller, then extended to brick and mortar stores, and they are now closing them.

They are revising their retail strategies by closing 68 locations nationwide. There goes the one in Marina del Rey we frequent and the one the two guyz on marketing focused on at the Century City Mall.

In the spring of July 1995, Jeff Bezos invited a small group of friends and former colleagues to check out his beta version of Amazon's website Amazon opened as an online bookseller, selling the world's largest collection of books to anyone with World Wide Web access.

A little trivia: What was the first book sold on Amazon.com? It was Douglas Hofstadter's Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies: Computer Models of the Fundamental Mechanisms of Thought.

I am an experienced, senior Forensic Marketing Expert, Advertising expert, Advertising/Marketing consultant with Londre Marketing Consultants, LLC.

It's sixty years later and we are in the digital age.

The Nine P's/9P's of Marketing help identify marketing problems in a number of strategic areas and help develop profitable marketing’s objectives, strategies, tactics and solutions. The 9P's are insightful. The nine P's were created for the digital age.
